Senior Business Analyst and GIS Trainer

  • Analyze, define, and document Land Use business rules and develop user and functional requirements for Addressing, Engineering, and Land Use teams.

  • Develop end-user materials and deliver training sessions for custom spatial analysis tools integrated with Accela Permitting, Regulation, Enforcement, and Property (PREP) systems.

  • Mentor and support Land Use business and technical staff in the use of Esri GIS tools. Provide understandable, relatable, and scalable Land Use, GIS, and Latitude Geographics Geocortex demonstrations and training sessions.

                                                            

Department of Construction & Inspections, June 2016-April 2017

Planning and Development Specialist

  • Served as Project Lead for in-depth analysis of Land Use environmental and development standards impacts.

  • Worked with systems and data analysts to develop a data set of more than 100,000 Type I and Type II construction and Land Use decisions. Researched and interpreted dozens of Land Use codes and ordinances.

  • Utilized ArcGIS, EDMS, Geocortex, and permitting software to identify building, construction, land use, and site work permits, and all related plan sets, for analysis of zoning and regulations impacts of several hundred Land Use permitting decisions.

  • Facilitated an interdepartmental workshop for multidisciplinary experts. Served on interdepartmental staff teams.

  • Developed new process, program, and regulation solutions.

  • Authored and presented monthly reports and recommendations.

  • Final findings and recommendations report resulted in issuance of a Mayor’s Office Executive Order. Many of my Land Use policy, business processes, and training recommendations are to be implemented in 2018.

 

Department of Transportation, Street Use, 2014-2016

Urban Forestry and GIS

  • Conducted field assessments of Green Infrastructure, street tree assets, and delivery of services for rights of way.

  • Reviewed and interpreted site plans for capital improvement and street improvement projects.

  • Created and co-presented an All-Staff Race and Social Justice training concerning Equity & the Environment.

  • Collaborated with Urban Design for Health (UD4H) to assess public health impacts of Seattle’s urban tree canopy.

  • Clients included: Edgenuity, GolPost, Grassroots, Washington’s National Park Fund

  • Edited mixed media footage for NYC TEDxChange and Gates Foundation conference commemorating the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals.

  • Drafted copy and supervised layout for full-color guide of National Parks Service botanical artworks.

  • Produced interview and graphics content for Career Education youth curriculum website.

  • Facilitated conflict negotiations between two chapter affiliates resulting in a board-driven merger.

  • Conducted interviews for StoryCorps and Library of Congress.

  • Produced local news coverage and media campaigns.

Event Services Project Manager

  • Managed branding, design, and services for global technology expositions -- from concept and design through to product build, delivery, and site management -- for Fortune 500 clients. 

  • Represented Microsoft, Starbucks, and others at global conferences including Consumer Electronics Show (CES), MacWorld, TechED, (now Microsoft Ignite), and Windows Hardware Engineering Conference (WinHEC).

  • Entrusted with a $1.5M budget for Microsoft WinHEC expo booth for which I had sole direction and responsibility, including overseeing Union crews. After viewing the exhibit, CEO Bill Gates chose it over several hundred others for the set of five live broadcast interviews.
